In Every Car Crash. . .

I had a strange thought the other day,
On a road trip to Santa Monica.
What if, at 100kph, I opened the car door and jumped out?
I wondered. . .
Would I survive the crash?

But then, I remember thinking something even stranger,
I didn't care if I were to survive or not.
So I went and pulled the handle. . .
But the door was safely locked.
